SOUTHEND DISTRICT & Ex-SERVICE DARTS LEAGUE

MAJOR CHANGES TO THE LEAGUE FORMAT AND COMPETITIONS

At the AGM on 09/08/23, Delegates voted in two major changes to the League.

One was to vote in a new competition to be run at the end of the season called the Aggregates Cup/Shield. This will be a Knockout competition and entries to each contest will be based on Players finishing positions in the Aggregates table.

The second vote means we change the way points are gained in each match. Instead of 2 pts for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a defeat, each game won will now gain a team a point.

For instance, Team A beats Team B 5-3. Instead of Team A getting 2 pts and Team B getting none, Team A will now get 5 pts and Team B will get 3. In previous seasons, the games won and lost were used as a tiebreaker for teams level on points. As Games won and lost are now used for points gained, the tiebreaker will be Legs Won vs Legs Lost.

The Committee will be working with Team Delegates over the next few weeks to finalise the format of the new Cup/Shield competitions.
